Board Bios
Tracy Sestili, CEO & Founder
Tracy is the daughter of Beverly
Pierandozzi, for whom the Beverly Fund is named. After watching her mother
deteriorate over a 15 month battle with lung cancer, Tracy was determined to
focus her energy in changing how the world thinks about the disease. She
co-founded The Beverly Fund with her brother and her husband in September
2006.
Tracy is a graduate of Shippensburg University and a Phi Sigma Sigma alum. She has spent over a decade in the technology industry and is currently the Director of Operations at TiVo, Inc. She moved to the Bay Area in 2000 from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now lives in San Francisco with her husband. She is CEO, Founder and Director of the Beverly Fund and also serves on the American Cancer Society’s Leadership Council Board in San Francisco.
Tracy is also the recipient of the AT&T Spotlight Community Hero Award, December 2007 and also a Bay Area Jefferson Award winner, February 2008 and the Shippensburg University 2009 Outstanding Young Alumnus Award for her work in lung cancer. She continues to speak publicly about her experiences with lung cancer as a caregiver and has written many articles on lung cancer advocacy.
Paul Sestili, CFO & Co-Founder
Paul is a General Partner with Sand Hill
Capital, a venture firm located in San Francisco, CA. Paul is the Managing
Director of Sand Hill Capital’s equity business, where he oversees the
firm’s investments in technology start-ups. Prior to his nine years in
venture capital, Paul was an engineer and entrepreneur. Paul has an
undergraduate engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon and an M.B.A. (with
Honors) from Georgetown University.
Paul helped his wife, Tracy, co-found The Beverly Fund in honor of her
mother in September 2006. He is the Chief Financial Officer and a member of
the Board of Directors.
Mark Pierandozzi, Secretary & Co-Founder
Mark
resides in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey and is a Temple and Syracuse
University alum. He obtained his B.A. in Journalism from Temple University
in 1989 and his Master’s in advertising from Syracuse University in 1991. He
is married with three children and currently works as an executive in a
major retail chain.
Mark is Tracy’s brother and Beverly’s son. When Tracy came to him with the idea of the Beverly Fund, Mark was excited and was happy to come on board. He remembered the loss of their mother and the difficult experience they had undergone to find out basic information, and was determined to help bring about a change. Mark is a founding member and on the Board of Directors.
Heidi Capetola, Director of Educational Programming
Heidi is a graduate of Penn State University
with a degree in Education and also has a Masters from West Chester
University in Elementary Counseling. She is currently pursuing her principal
certification at Penn State Great Valley. She currently resides as the
president of the alumni for education at Penn State University and is also a
Vice Principal and Great Valley School District. Wife and mother of two,
Heidi is well recognized in the educational community and is very involved
with her children and family. Heidi has been a consultant to the Beverly
Fund since inception, but just recently joined the Beverly Fund's Board of
Directors in 2009.
